Matt is a married Father of five, lives in Green and has one granddaughter.

A retired Firefighter, Matt started more than 25 years of public safety  and service as a Cleveland Police Officer. He also served on Green City Council, 2018 to 2022.

He wants safer cities too

As a Former Cleveland Police Officer and retired Firefighter/Paramedic, Matt Shaughnessy will support, fund and equip the Summit County Sherriff’s Office.

Matt's on a Fixed Income too

As a retired Firefighter, Matt Knows what it’s like living on a fixed income, and knows the stress of having to supplement that income. Matt won’t raise taxes, he’ll support competition for internet service providers to bring in lower prices, and Matt will make sure District 8 gets its fair share of county infrastructure improvements and services.
